Top 10 List Number Three

Now, for the list of my Top 10 in my favorite genre, Epic/Battle movies! In no particular order...

-Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring-Not enough can be said about ANY of the LOTR movies. They are all amazing. My mom read us these books when we were younger. I had all but forgotten about them by the time the first movie came out. My family decided to go see it, and I had no idea what to expect. I came out in love with my new favorite series.

-Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers-Again...amazing. The visuals and effects made this one seem to be better than the first, even though it's hard to top that. The battle of Helms Deep was so exciting. I know it's nerdy, but when Gandalf came down the side of the mountain with reinforcements, I got the chills.

-Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King-I saw this movie about 8 or 9 times in theaters alone. Even though I love all three, this was the best of them all. Minas Tirith was stunning. Everything about every battle was epic. Simply the best.

-300-A very different but great movie. The action sequences were mind-boggling. A mix between matrix effects and roman war! Not to mention, Gerard Butler is a pretty cool guy.

-Braveheart-A battle lover's classic. Mel Gibson plays the part perfect. I love the Irish/Scottish accents too! Wish I had one. There are some hilarious parts in it too. "Ireland...it's MINE!"

-Gladiator-One of the first to come to my mind after LOTR. I never much cared for Russel Crowe, but after this one, he's up there on the list. I actually got my wife to watch this (who isn't a fan of battle movies) and she watched it, loved it, cried, and now it's one of her favorites.

-King Arthur-I love this adaptation of the story. Clive owen is one bad dude. I love the themes of honor, valor, and strength. All qualities to make a movie great.

-Troy-I'm also not a fun of Brad Pitt so much, but he did a great job in this one. Prince Hector is by far the best character in this one though. Awesome fighting sequences and stunning effects.

-The Last Samurai-And yet again...Tom Cruise is not up there on my list, but this movie...Honor, strength, training day and night, living the life of a warrior. I love the way of the Japanese Samurai. This movie made me want to go there sooooo bad.

-The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian-If I could have an 11, The Lion, The With and the Wardrobe would be on here, but this one beats it out. Much better action and battle scenes. I got chills a few times on this one too.

So that's it for this group of posts. I'm going to attempt to post more soon if I get more ideas coming in. See you soon.

Top 10 List Number Two

Ok I lied. I'm rushing to do this one before I have to leave. So here is my Top ten action/sci-fi list. Again, in no order considering I would be here all night changing the order over and over.

-Final Fantasy 7:Advent Children-An amazing anime movie based off of my favorite video game of all time. Before you say anything negative because it's base doff a video game, let me tell you that this game is epic. The soundtrack is epic. Everything about the story line is better than most movies or books out now. Watch it.

-Hero-Jet Li is one of the best martial arts fighters out there, hands down. Doing most of his own stunts and kicking butt, he just amazes me.

-Underworld Evolution-Besides my love for myths, vampires, werewolves, and action, the movie adds even more. The introduction is set in a time where vampires battled with sword spear. How cool.

-Equilibrium-Christian Bale is my favorite actor (tied with Johnny Depp), so that makes this movie even more cool. Mix martial arts, guns, and a cool twisted story line, and this is what you get.

-The Dark Knight-Can't say enough about this one. Amazing movie, creepy villain, kick-butt hero (Christian Bale again..), and long run time. All good qualities.

-Never Back Down-This movie made it because of my love for fighting. I wish there was some sort of "fight club" around here. Oh wait, I'm starting one. =)

-Reign of Fire-Another one with Christian Bale. Dragons taking over the world?? Wicked movie, awesome action sequences, and pretty much the ONLY movie I will EVER like Matthew Mcconaughey in. Ever.

-Chronicles of Riddick-Vin Diesel is awesome. He's buff, good at kicking butt, and very straight forward.

-Casino Royale-I'm torn between this and Goldeneye as my favorite Bond movie. The new guy does a great job, and the Parkour seen in the beginning is stunning.

-Hitman-TThe movie is really cool. Not too much to say except that it's definitely worth watching. The main characters demeanor is just awesome.

Alright. So off to my last class before my last final of my college career. Finally! So when I get back, expect the best list yet: Top 10 Epic/Battle movies.

Top 10 List Number One

I attempted to make a list of my top ten favorite movies of all time after reading CJ's post about hers. It did not work. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am an avid movie collector. I rarely watch TV, if I do it's COPS, Disorderly Conduct: Video on Patrol, Most Shocking Police Videos, Speeders, or Locked Up. I am a movie person. I have a very good collection, all kept in alphabetical order and awesome condition. So instead of narrowing down my huge list of awesome movies, I divided it into 3 categories. This is the first: Top Ten Comedy/Cop Movies. (In no order)...(I mean, if I can't pick 10 favorite movies, you think I can organize my top ten in this in any order?? No.)

-S.W.A.T.-An awesome movie about the SWAT team.

-Street Kings-Who can resist a movie about a Cop that takes initiative and weeds out corruption. Cleans himself up after realizing how dirty his partners are.

-The Fugitive-What Harrison Ford does in this movie is almost exactly what I would do in this case. I like a movie I can relate to.

-Kindergarten Cop-This movie is hilarious. "You mean you eat other childrens lunches!? STOP IT!!"

-Righteous Kill-With a quote like "Most people respect the badge. Everybody respects the gun", I know that this movie (coming out soon) will be one of my favorites.

-Bruce Almighty-My favorite scene is where Bruce makes Evan (convulse? haha) mess up his lines on live TV. Look up the scene if you haven't seen the movie.

-Evan Almighty-Steve Carrell does an awesome job, making this movie even funnier and cleaner than the prequel.

-Anchorman-All I can say is..."LOOOOUUUD NOOOOIISES!" The Combination of Steve Carrell and Will Farrell is awesome.

-Dan In Real Life-Another clean but hilarious movie. "You are a murderer of love!"

-Get Smart-And what do ALL my comedy movies have in common?? Steve Carrell. Possibly the funniest actor on earth.

Ok. So thats 5 comedy and 5 cop movies. My next list is Top 10 Action/Sci Fi, followed by Top 10 Epic/Battle movies. I will post these after class tonight, seeing as how my lack of writing lately has made me very slow. =)
